Family - Relationships

Family and other relationships with friends, coworkers, neighbors, teachers, businesses and people from sports and activities are all part of the overall interactions that happen in life.  Although how much effort and how we treat those relationships and acquaintances should be based on goal based decision making.

Some of these relationships will be casual and inconsistent in nature and others will be critical to achievement of goals and may have an impact on the family unit due to the amount of interaction and possible influence these relationships may have.

Do these relationships make it easier or harder to achieve your overall family and relationship goals?  This is the question you have to answer as you decide to invest time and effort into these relationships.

Do you have common interests, goals, values and life philosophies?
If not what is the value that the relationship brings?

You can only manage and grow a certain amount of relationships at one time so it is critical not to spread your energy to thin by attempting to be there for everyone.  You must choose and invest accordingly.
